About Whatcom Occupational Health

Whatcom Occupational Health provides high-quality, cost-efficient occupational medical care to Bellingham, WA and surrounding Whatcom County residents and businesses. In 2005, Dr. Eric Smith, MD, joined Whatcom Occupational Health with founder Dr. Peter Ambrose, MD. Dr Smith is currently our medical director. In 2009, Dr. R. Jessica Hanford, MD, MPH joined our team as Did Dr. Jeffrey Ries, MD IN 2010. We accommodate both walk-ins for acute care and appointments. Whatcom Occupational Health’s goal is to provide and promote a healthy workforce, prevent illness, and work with employers on occupational hazards that cause risks to employees. Our treatment philosophy emphasizes early return to work of injured employees (when medically safe). Whatcom Occupational Health offers comprehensive Occupational Medicine services to ensure the employees effectiveness on the job.
