How To Plan For Fall And Winter Influenza Season
- Cross train staff
- Reduce transmission among staff where possible
- All persons who have become sick should stay home until 24 hours after their fever has resolved. Symptoms include 100 degree fever, chills, cough and/or sore throat. Runny nose, body aches, headache, tiredness, diarrhea, and vomiting are also common.
- Encourage covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue and wash hands afterwards.
- Routinely clean commonly touched surfaces such as telephones, counter tops, computer keyboards and doorknobs.
- Do not use other workers office equipment.
- Encourage your staff to exercise a healthy lifestyle with adequate rest, diet, and relaxation.
- Wash your hands frequently and keep them away from your nose, mouth and eyes. Germs spread that way.
- Get vaccinated against the flu.
